UAL GRADUATE SHOWCASE
‘SHOW’ is the Camberwell College of the Arts graduate showcase, showcasing my work ‘The Cycle: My Final Journey.’
'The Cycle: My Final Journey' is a work that explores the relationship between humans and nature. This work investigates this personal relationship by considering my journey with the land, spiritually through meditative practices through mandalas.
I use mandalas as a guide to express the conscious, unconscious feelings and thoughts in relation to the world, that give me a chance to sit with my mind to be one with my body and experiences. This mandala I produced reflects me.
During the process of making this artwork, I worked with the land on a one-to-one contact basis, to show the physical connection I have with nature. I explored this through a site-specific approach, considering the location and materials I use to guide my subconscious through art making.
I work with materials that I feel connected with, that hold an importance via memory and significant locations. The hand placed stones in this work were collected from various sites, that I share many memories with resulting in deepening the relationship with nature through these personal attachments.

“The Cycle: My Final Journey is intriguing due to its deeply personal exploration of the human-nature connection. The artist's use of mandalas as a spiritual and meditative tool offers a unique lens into their conscious and subconscious relationship with the world. The incorporation of site-specific materials and the intimate process of collecting stones imbues the artwork with a profound sense of connection and memory, making it a captivating reflection of the artist's journey with nature.” – Paolina Stefani, Video Editor, Earthrise Studio.
