I am a Fine Artist based around London, a graduate from University of the Arts London Camberwell Fine Art: Drawing.
I explore mediums such as drawing, painting, and sewing in relation to land and the earth. To explore the relationship between humans and nature. I investigate the personal relationship I have with nature by considering my journey with the land, spiritually through meditative practices channelling my thought processes through mandalas. I enjoy working with the land on a one-to-one contact basis, to show a physical connection I have with nature, sculpturing the land into structures known as land art.
I investigate land art through site specific work by collaborating with nature at the site. I want to explore and work with environments that I feel connected with, that hold an importance to me via memory and significant locations. This is important as I want to investigate my intuition in relation to places that I already have an attachment with, to deepen that relationship between myself and nature. Looking into intuition and the subconscious, my work is heavily based on letting my unconscious mind to take control of my actions. This being supported by meditation practices, automatism, and instinctual feelings.
To deeper my understanding of human nature, I enjoy investigating human anatomy by exploring the properties and structure of the body. This allows me to get acquainted with the human body on a deeper connection. I use drawings to uncover the anatomy underneath my skin, and showing the complex beauty of the human anatomy. To extend this connection with the body, I use life drawing to capture the body's movement, energy, and structure of the model.
Taking both of these art style practices, drawing and plant instillations, I have been experimenting with incorporating these processes together. This is to deeper investigate the relationship between human and nature. I appreciate the skill and enjoyment I share with drawing; it is a process of an extension of my thoughts and feelings, how each pencil mark can hold so much notion and impression from my mind. Introducing the natural world into my practice, allows me to create a personal attachment to the materials I am working with, allowing my mind to tether with the land getting personal ideas straight from the site.
